Local Events in St. Alyre d'ArlancBelow are a few pictures showing some of the summer events.
Early July, a selection of classic cars taken at a rally that was attended by more than fifty elegant and impeccably dressed cars dating mostly from the 1950s to 1970s.
Mid July the village swells to more than six times its normal population when it hosts the Fete Patronale of Sainte Elidie, and celebrates with a weekend packed full of activities and entertainment. From mediaeval trumpeters heralding a march from the tiny chapel at the edge of the forest, into the village.
Throughout the weekend, a funfair, concert and open air dancing in the village square provide a festive atmosphere and the festival is climaxed by a torchlit procession around the village for the children, culminating in an impressive fireworks display. A late night disco provides an opportunity for villagers, friends and visitors to mingle and let off some steam and brings the fete to a close.
